オーストラリアで子どもに関わる仕事をするには、州が発行する Working With Children Check（WWCC）が必要です。州によって名称が異なり、クイーンズランド州では Blue Card と呼ばれます。また、多くの施設では保育の現場向けの応急処置講習（First Aid、喘息・アナフィラキシー対応を含むもの）の修了も求められます。
これらはすぐに働けるかどうかを左右するため、採用担当者は資格欄を最初に確認します。取得済みのものは番号の有無にかかわらず資格欄に明記し、申請中の場合も「WWCC (NSW) – application lodged」のように書いておくと、準備が進んでいることが伝わります。
保育の資格要件と、日本の資格の扱い
オーストラリアの保育施設（Long Day Care など）では、保育者は原則として Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care 以上の資格を持っているか、取得に向けて学んでいる必要があります。日本の保育士資格や幼稚園教諭免許は、保育の資格を管轄する ACECQA に申請することで、オーストラリアの資格と同等と認められる場合があります。
資格の認定が済んでいなくても、学童保育（OSHC: Outside School Hours Care）やナニー、オーペアなど、日本での経験を活かせる仕事はあります。最新の要件やビザの就労条件は、ACECQA や移民局の公式情報で確認してください。
EYLF を意識して経験を書く
オーストラリアの保育は、Early Years Learning Framework（EYLF）という国の指針に沿って、遊びを通した学び（Play-based learning）を大切にしています。日本での経験を書くときも、「〇歳児クラスを担任」だけでなく、子どもの発達に合わせた活動を計画したこと、一人ひとりの様子を記録して保護者と共有したことなど、EYLF の考え方に近い部分を具体的に書くと伝わりやすくなります。
