最初に確認されるのは White Card と安全意識
オーストラリアの建設現場で働くには、全国共通の建設業安全講習の修了証である White Card が必須です。これがないと現場に入れないため、採用担当者はまず資格欄を見ます。White Card はレジュメの上の方（Personal Statement の中や連絡先の近く）にも書き、見落とされないようにしましょう。
オーストラリアの現場は安全管理（WHS: Work Health and Safety）に非常に厳しく、事故を起こさない人、ルールを守る人が何より求められます。日本の現場で KY 活動（危険予知）や朝礼、安全帯の使用を徹底していた経験は、「toolbox talks」「SWMS（安全作業手順書）に従った」などの現地の言葉で書くと、そのまま評価につながります。無事故の記録があれば必ず数字で入れましょう。
ワーホリの入口は Labourer
ワーホリで最も採用されやすいのは、資材の運搬、清掃、職人の補助などを行う Labourer（作業員）です。大工や電気工などの Trades として働くには、オーストラリアの資格や免許が必要なことが多く、日本の資格はそのままでは通用しません。日本で職人をしていた場合でも、まずは「Carpenter's Assistant」などの補助職として、日本での経験年数と扱える工具を具体的に書くのが現実的です。
建設の仕事は人材派遣会社（Labour hire agency）経由で決まることも多く、エージェントに登録する際にもレジュメを求められます。安全靴（Steel-capped boots）や作業着などの PPE を自分で持っているか、現場まで自分で移動できるかも聞かれるので、持っている場合は書いておきましょう。
持っていると時給が上がる追加の資格
交通誘導の Traffic Control、高所作業車の EWP、フォークリフトなどの High Risk Work Licence は、現場で任せてもらえる仕事の幅を広げ、時給の高い求人に応募できるようになります。州ごとに必要な講習が異なるものもあるため、働く州の情報を確認しましょう。
